Currently August 2015

Thanks Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for creating this monthly linky!  This month is full of back-to-school goodness, long hours, and professional growth.  I'm really looking forward to it this year, and I will share why in a moment.  But here is my "Currently August!"

Listening: I'm a Dave Ramsey nut!  I really enjoy listening to his podcast, which is 3 hours of his daily talk show.  I get to learn about how to achieve my financial goals, and he throws in some Bible references as well.

Loving: Have you smelled some of the new scents at Bath and Body Works?  I haven't really loved anything new since a few years ago when they made Pink Chiffon.  I'm really enjoying Love and Sunshine, and it looks summery too with the yellow top!

Thinking: I have no idea what my new school is like other than what little I have heard from the principal and assistant principal.  Any other year I would definitely be feeling anxious, but this year I'm calm and relaxed.  I am thinking about how I'm going to build relationships with a new team of teachers, and how I will gain their trust in order to support their goals and growth.

Wanting: Who doesn't want more summer?  I mean, it's August, and with August comes a ton of professional development in our district, teacher work week, and the 1st day of school.  Someone asked me the other day when I go back.  They were surprised when I said my vacation was pretty much over.  Where did the time go???

Needing: I'm really trying to get some projects checked off of my list for district curriculum and TpT products.  In addition, I've got a home project list that I've been working on this summer.  Today, I changed the light bulbs in our house to all LED bulbs.  What a difference it made - less wattage, less heat, less money!

B2S RAK: I hope to drop some random acts of kindness at my new school by supporting teachers with classroom design and lesson planning.  I really liked Farley's idea of dropping small things in mailboxes to create joy.  That's my RAK goal is to choose joy and help to create more joy.

"Always be joyful!"

  1. Hi Cheryle,

Wow, you are already back to school. I have another week until I have to go back, but that doesn't mean that I'm not working like a bee at home. I've also heard of Ramsey, but I will listen to his podcasts too. :) I was curious, what is your new role going to be? Sounds like an exciting shift!

  2. I so understand about summer being over - teachers at my school start Thursday. I've fallen in love with Bath & Body Works Strawberry Lemonade hand sanitizer. The new shape of those containers are much better. Wish they would make some other things with the same scent. Best wishes this school year!

  3. I too am trying to finish some TpT products. The struggle lol. Sounds like you have an awesome attitude about working with the other teachers. They will be lucky to have you in their school. :-)

    Have a great year,
