Monday Made-It: Cranking Tasks Out!

It's Monday, and you know what that means!!!  Time for another Monday Made-It linky with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics!

This past week has been super crazy!  It's amazing that I was able to do 3, yes THREE, blog posts!  And I've been working hard on that mile-long to-do list!  And I did work on some new products (and will be sharing with you soon).  But, that's for another post - let's get right to the "made-its!!!"

My teaching buddy and I wanted to create some birthday cards to give to our students this year.  I designed them, and we sent them off to Vistaprint.  I had no idea that they didn't offer the "free" stuff anymore!  When I was last in the classroom, I was able to get quite a bit with those promotions!  Anyways, we got a great deal with a 50% off code.  But aren't they cute?!?!?!

We also made postcards to send home to the students that will be in our class BEFORE meet-the-teacher.  I left the line after "with" blank so we could write in our names with a white paint pen/sharpie.  I really enjoy designing things like this - perhaps that is why I almost went into marketing!  Fun times!  We also ordered these from VP...

This next one is a test.  I printed these name plates on the rack cards.  I'm not sure if they will be the correct size or work well, but I thought I would try.  I have been printing so much, I didn't want to print 25 of these things in B/W on my printer.

Speaking of printers, I've been looking into getting an inkjet printer again because the ink is so much less expensive.  Especially if you get the ink system that lasts longer (like up to a year I've heard).  I can't remember what it is called, but saw it on a blog last week.  I changed to a color laser printer several years ago because the color is so much better.  However, the inkjet printers must have improved.  The other type of printer I would love to have is one that will print on 12x12 paper!  That's a dream, though!  #nevergonnahappen

Remember last Monday Made-It when I posted that chair?  Well, my mom and I finally finished it (somewhat)!  We have to permanently attach the seat to the base of the chair, but it looks super good!  It is going to be perfect in my whole group area!  I purchased this chair at the Goodwill store for a decent price.  I knew I was going to paint and recover the seat, and it was fairly easy for this one.  The last chair we recovered was quite difficult!  My mom and I try to stop by the goodwill stores whenever we can because you never know what treasure you are going to find in there!  I've been able to great some great things for the classroom...

The last "made-it" is a group of "made-its!"  Like I said earlier, I have been trying to crank out some things from my to-do list.  Every day, I have to be able to cross SOMETHING OFF of the list!  LOL!  So these are things that were on the list and I made them for the classroom.  Well, everything in today's blog was for the classroom - hahaha!

I finished my classroom jobs poster.  I'm not really 100% satisfied with the heading, but it will do.  Maybe I should trace around the letters with a black sharpie.  What do you all think???

I saw this idea on Dianne's blog at Hopelessly Devoted to Teaching!  I love the idea as I have had individual headphones for students, and it was always a mess in the organization department.  So I made two containers - I couldn't find a larger container that I liked and these were on sale.  The cover is really cute, don'tcha think?

Lastly, I am starting to print my pennants for my classroom bulletin boards.  I am creating a look similar to Karen's look created with Melanie @ Schoolgirl Style.  I decided to add the letters to the pennants to spell out the subject for that section of the bulletin board.  I also tied cute little bows with the ribbon where it will attach to the board.  I really like them a lot!!!

Speaking of classroom, tomorrow I am going to head up to school to start working in there.  It is a lengthy process for as many design decisions are necessary!  Tomorrow is specifically devoted to my classroom library, and organizing the books.  I had my library in our PD room the last three years - I couldn't part with it (and for good reason)!  At the end of the year when I was packing to move to my classroom, I had 4th grade students help me.  The books are all scattered in the boxes, but I was just happy that they packed them up!  I will be taking pictures along the way, so stay tuned!

Finally, I've got a great post coming soon about some of my favorite things!  I may even make it a linky party - my first, I think.  And, I'm excited to say that I will be hosting my very first give-away!  Check back soon!!!
