Five for Friday: Looking into my life!

Another Friday is here!  I can handle this...  I'm safe here...  Keep breathing... (Conscious Discipline anyone?)  I'm having so much fun with this blog, but I find myself thinking about all of the great things I can share ALL OF THE TIME!  Hahaha!

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for a Five for Friday post.  What's Five for Friday?  Five random things from the week!

On Wednesday, I had lunch with my two favorite instructional specialists!  It was great to get out and just talk about life and such.  They asked me about my "office/craft" room and said they wanted to see pictures of where my creative juices flow.  I thought it would be cute to put them on here.  This room is NOT pretty, but it holds everything I need (practically) to get a project done - AND I HAVE LOTS OF THOSE!

I have wayyyyyyyyyyy toooooooooo many books!!!  I actually told my mom that I need to figure out how to add more shelves!!!  She said I should get rid of some of the books!!!  Uh, no!

I posted on Wednesday that I made a list of everything I needed to do to be ready for school.  Boy, there are a lot of things on that list!  However, I have told myself to work on a task, complete it, cross it off, and move to the next.  That's normal, right?  So, yesterday I actually was able to cross off completely a task, and partially cross off two more. YAY!

Last night, I stayed up late trying to use my cricut to cut those word wall letter circles.  I bought a circle cutter from Hobby Lobby, but it wasn't the easiest to use.  I remember seeing someone's blog post about a great circle cutter, but I can't seem to remember what it was called.  So, I decided that there had to be a way to use the cricut.  There is, but it took me an hour plus about 10 sheets of paper to get the circles cut right where I printed them.  Now, I just need to finish cutting them.  That will be a task for today along with laminating them.  I also downloaded Maria's "Through the Year Calendar Headers".  They are so cute (and FREE)!  I'm also going to download her calendar reminder cards and holiday cards.

I have a serious addiction!  Back-to-School items!  LOL!  I went to Mardel's teacher sale yesterday, but then I decided that I also need to go to Lakeshore.  I spent about an hour in Lakeshore walking up and down every aisle!  I did purchase a couple of "non-list" items, but all-in-all I stuck with my list!  That was a proud moment for me!  I have also been to the sales at Staples, Office Depot/Max, and Wal-Mart this week (more than once)!  Last night, I was organizing all of the things I've purchased (see the last picture of my office - it wasn't this pretty before), and realized I have a serious problem.  Is there a support group for this?  I think my biggest problem this year is....  (drum roll please)  STICKY NOTES!!!!  See supporting picture below!

There are probably about 50-75 sticky note pads in this bag!  I didn't realize that I had so many until I started organizing everything, so next time I go to the store, I will have to say NO to sticky notes!

This time of year is so much fun!!!

I'm working on some new genre posters for my classroom.  I share everything I make with our instructional specialists.  I sent this sample of the poster to one of them last night, and she was delighted!  If you work in Pasadena ISD, the good news is they will be added to our district resources.  If you don't, they will be added to my TpT shop soon!

And finally, this is a funny personal moment from this week.  You see, normally I am in bed and asleep by 9:00 pm during the school year.  But during the summer, watch out!  My bedtime is extended, and I'm still awake by 8:00 am!  Last night, I was chatting with one of my best teammies from school on facebook messenger.  It was late, and we chatted about everything (classroom, school supplies, IKEA, projects, home improvements, personal things, Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth...)!  The conversation went very late into the night, and then this popped into her head.

We both laughed remembering those times as a teenager when you would stay up late talking on the phone.  She even recalled that it was a "landline" and no texting.  Boy, how the times have changed!  Do you remember staying up late talking on the phone, and then falling asleep with the phone to your ear???

Have a great weekend!!!
