3 Years??? Really???

Wow!  I can't believe that it has been 3 years since I started this blog, AND almost 3 years since I last posted something to it!  OMG!  A lot has changed since then, and I've come full circle in my teaching!

Side note ---> I actually started a blog post a year ago to update and rejuvenate the blog.  Ooops!  That didn't work out that well as the blog post is still in draft mode!  Hahaha!

Okay, back to explaining!  In 2011 on the Monday before school started, I interviewed at another campus for a literacy coach position.  I got the position on the 3rd day of school after that principal came to observe me in my classroom - ON THE 3RD DAY OF SCHOOL!  Apparently she was impressed, and my journey of literacy coaching began (well, not until the 6th week of school as they had to find a replacement for me).

I also earned my masters degree in literacy and am now a certified reading specialist in the state of Texas!  Wahoo!  My journal as literacy coach has allowed me to help write district-wide curriculum for reading and writing, present several professional development workshops, and attend several conferences.  Over this last year, I've been praying a lot and reflecting about what it is that I am supposed to be doing!  I have "dreams" of being a district specialist, and am now taking that next step.  I've decided to return to the classroom!  LOL!

I know that this is the right decision for me, but have also felt answered prayers several times (and am now choosing to listen)!  I will be teaching 3rd grade again this next year with an awesome team at my school!  I'm just praying now that I don't fail my students and my school - you know, the all talk and no results drama?!?!?  I really should get some experience in the primary grades, but this is a step in the right direction.

Anyways, I have so much that I desire to share with all of you out there through this blog!  My first step was to revamp it somehow.  I dabbled a little in creating my own header, but I'm not satisfied with it.  I will probably end up getting a custom blog design, but first I am trying to figure out how to purchase my domain and/or switch to Wordpress.  Decisions of a blogger!

I also have some exciting teaching tools that I will be sharing in the next month.  As I'm preparing for back-to-school, I will hopefully be able to share the ideas with you.

Happy 4th of July and hope you come back real soon!
